Last reviewed: 6 November 2026

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

These terms apply when you book training, filming, editing or livestreaming with The Laughing Donkey. Use of the website itself is covered by our Website Terms of Use.

Client Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

Darren Taylor trading as The Laughing Donkey, a sole trader in England. Email: hello@thelaughingdonkey.co.uk.

2. Booking

A booking is confirmed when you accept our written quote and pay the deposit. The quote sets out what’s included, the date, location and price.

3. Prices

Prices are in pounds and are the full price. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added. Travel and any extras are shown on your quote.

4. Deposit and payment

A 50% deposit secures your date. The balance is due 7 days before the event, or on delivery for filming and editing work. Training is paid in full before the session.

5. Cancelling

More than 30 days before: deposit refunded, minus any costs we’ve already spent (for example kit hire). 8–30 days before: deposit kept. 7 days or less: full price due. Moving to a new date instead of cancelling is free once, subject to availability.

6. Your right to cancel (private individuals)

If you book online or by phone as a private individual, you can cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days, you’ll pay for work already done.

7. What we need from you

Permission to film and stream at the venue, access for set-up, the venue’s internet details where available, and any licences the venue needs (for example a church’s streaming licence for music). You’re responsible for telling guests or attendees that the event is being filmed or streamed.

8. Livestreams and the internet

We bring a mobile internet backup and do everything we can to keep the stream running, but we can’t control venue or internet failures. If the stream fails because of something we’re responsible for, we’ll refund a fair part of the price. A full recording is made as a backup wherever possible.

9. Recordings and files

Recordings and finished videos are delivered by download link, usually within 7 working days. We keep files for 30 days after delivery, then they may be deleted, so please save your copy.

10. Changes to edits

Each edit includes one round of changes. Further changes are charged at our hourly rate, shown on your quote.

11. Who owns what

You own the finished videos and recordings once paid for in full. We may use short clips or stills to show our work, but only with your permission, and never for funerals or private events unless you say yes.

12. If we can’t attend

If illness or an emergency stops us attending, we’ll try to arrange a trusted replacement. If we can’t, you’ll get a full refund of everything you’ve paid.

13. Liability

We carry public liability insurance. Our total liability for any booking is limited to the price you paid, except where the law doesn’t allow this limit.

14. Training materials

Slides, checklists and workbooks are for your team’s own use and can’t be resold or shared publicly.

15. Complaints

Tell us at hello@thelaughingdonkey.co.uk and we’ll reply within 5 working days.

16. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
